Check volume and weight separately
Cubic metres describe space, while kilograms describe weight. A load of light furniture can use the available space before reaching the payload; packed books or dense goods can do the opposite. An available pallet position or unused air above the load does not mean more weight can be added.
For a rectangular packed item, length × width × height in metres gives its outer volume. For example, a 0.60 × 0.40 × 0.40 m box occupies 0.096 m³ geometrically. That is a measurement example, not a loading guarantee: gaps, protection, furniture shape and stacking restrictions affect usable vehicle space.
Choose from the inventory, not household floor area
Send the items, box count, packed dimensions and approximate weights, with photos of bulky pieces. Tell me which furniture will be dismantled and what cannot be laid down or stacked. A label such as “one-bedroom flat” is useful context but cannot determine the load on its own.
The comparison below shows published options for Man and Van and Man and Truck. They are not a list of guaranteed available vehicles or a claim that the same equipment accompanies every option. The exact vehicle, loading openings, usable space and payload are confirmed before booking.
A larger vehicle also needs a workable stopping place
Check the approach to the property, permitted parking and the carrying distance. Give any narrow entrance, height barrier or restricted turning space. The load-space dimensions in an offer are not the vehicle’s external dimensions; a larger truck may need a different loading position.
For palletised or heavy goods, state what lifting equipment is available. A tail lift or pallet truck is requested and assessed separately, including item weight and the unloading surface. Do not assume a driver can manually handle a machine because it fits inside the vehicle.
Agree the people and work as well as capacity
Man and Van combines a vehicle with agreed driver assistance; heavier items or stairs may require an additional helper. Man and Truck can provide a larger load option with handling assessed in the same way. More vehicle space does not automatically mean a larger crew.
List floors, lift measurements and who can assist at each address. Request assembly, packing or extensive carry-in ahead of time. Dedicated transport and available shared-load options are assessed from the route, load and date flexibility; vehicle size alone does not determine the schedule or price.
| Service option | Nominal space / load-space dimensions | Payload option |
|---|---|---|
| Man and Van panel van | Approximately 13 m³ | Up to 1,100 kg |
| Man and Truck — smaller option | 20 m³ / 4.20 × 2.20 × 2.20 m | Up to 1,100 kg |
| Man and Truck — larger option | 35 m³ / 6.00 × 2.40 × 2.50 m | Up to 3,000 kg |
Practical questions
Will a 20 m³ vehicle carry more weight than a 13 m³ van?
Not necessarily. The published examples can have similar payload despite different space. I assess both limits for the selected vehicle and your inventory.
Can you help if I do not know my volume?
Yes. Send an item list, packed measurements, box count, approximate weight and photos. I can assess suitable options and explain what still needs checking.
Does a truck booking include two people for carrying?
Not automatically. Tell me the work and help available at both addresses. The driver’s role, any additional helper and other tasks are agreed in the offer.
Tell me your route and what you need to move. I assess your enquiry personally, with services arranged through 1wayeurope OÜ.
