Start with the dates you cannot change
Give the last possible collection date and the earliest date you can receive the goods. Explain which dates depend on keys, renovation or a tenancy agreement, and whether the later delivery has a fixed appointment. If the storage duration is uncertain, give your best estimate and discuss extension arrangements before booking.
The published service covers space requirements from 5 m³ to 100 m³ and periods from one day to a year, assessed individually. Those ranges do not establish a fixed minimum bill, guaranteed capacity or the same terms at every facility.
Plan the whole journey, not just a storage period
There can be a collection journey, handling into storage, the storage period, handling out and final delivery. Tell me the original and final locations, inventory and preferred storage area. I assess the proposed location and each stage together rather than assume storage must sit beside the first address.
For an international move, explain whether the goods have already crossed a customs border or still need to do so. A storage stop does not resolve customs status by itself. I assess the relevant transport and document sequence for the actual arrangement.
Prepare belongings for storage handling
List boxes, furniture, palletised goods or machinery with sizes, quantities and approximate weights. Describe the packing and protection already in place, and flag fragile surfaces, moisture-sensitive goods or anything needing special conditions. Suitability is checked individually; climate control or specialist storage should never be assumed.
Tell me whether you need access to some items while the rest remain stored. Facility access, retrieval, notice and handling arrangements must be confirmed in the offer. Packing, dismantling and later assembly are additional tasks to request in advance.
Know what is confirmed before collection
I work with long-standing warehouse partners rather than claim an owned warehouse in every city. The facility, available space, conditions, equipment and price are confirmed for your goods. After unloading, I send photos and information on how the goods are stored, as described in the storage service.
Ask for clarity on the transport legs, handling, storage period, access, onward-delivery notice, extensions and applicable insurance terms. At final delivery, I still need the floors, lifts, parking and crew requirements. A storage booking does not automatically include carrying upstairs or furniture assembly.
| Stage | What I need from you |
|---|---|
| Collection | Origin, ready date, inventory, packing and carrying access |
| Storage | Preferred area, expected duration, space and conditions required |
| Onward delivery | Final address, receiving window, floors and helpers needed |
Practical questions
Can you collect now and deliver after I get the keys?
I can assess collection, suitable partner storage and onward delivery together. Send both locations, the inventory and likely dates so the whole sequence can be proposed.
Can I visit or collect one item during storage?
Explain that requirement before booking. Access, notice, retrieval and any handling charges depend on the agreed facility and terms; unrestricted access is not assumed.
Is storage charged only by cubic metre?
I quote individually. Goods, space, location, period, handling, access requirements and transport can all affect the proposal. Ask for the agreed components to be clear.
Tell me your route and what you need to move. I assess your enquiry personally, with services arranged through 1wayeurope OÜ.
