Describe the route from vehicle to final position
At each address, give the floor, steps before the entrance, lift dimensions, narrow doors and stair turns. Include the distance from a permitted stopping place, not just the distance from the road to the front door. For a large piece, measure the tightest part of the route and send photographs where helpful.
State where the item should finish: at the entrance, inside the property or in a particular room. A lift in the building does not establish that a sofa or packed appliance fits inside it. Describe any lift booking, restricted delivery hours or building contact needed to open access.
Match the handling team to the actual items
Send individual item weights, packed dimensions and the protection already in place. Explain if a piece cannot be tilted, has a delicate finish or needs dismantling. A large vehicle does not automatically come with more people, and an extra person does not make every lift or staircase suitable.
Tell me who can assist at collection and delivery. If you cannot help, state that plainly. Driver assistance and an additional helper can be assessed, with the agreed tasks confirmed before booking. Do not leave a heavy item to an assumption that the receiver will find someone on the day.
Separate carrying from packing and assembly
Request protective materials, dismantling, unpacking and reassembly as distinct tasks. Say which furniture needs work at which address, and provide model details or instructions when available. Carrying a boxed item into a room does not itself include installing it or disposing of its packaging.
For a more extensive service, enquire in advance so the equipment, people and time can be assessed. A last-minute option may only have the driver and basic equipment available. I confirm what can actually be arranged rather than treat every urgent delivery as a fully staffed move.
Prepare the receiver and the stopping place
Confirm that someone can receive the goods, provide access and identify the agreed room. Keep the carrying route clear and tell me about building rules before dispatch. Required parking permissions or temporary arrangements must be assigned to a responsible person; booking transport does not automatically reserve public space.
If the item does not appear to fit, raise that before collection. A different vehicle, dismantling plan or handling arrangement may need assessment. No specialist external lift, crane, installation or unsafe manual handling is assumed from this checklist.

| Detail | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Goods | Packed dimensions, individual weights and handling restrictions |
| Building | Floor, steps, door widths, stair turns and lift dimensions |
| Outside | Lawful stopping position, distance, surface and vehicle approach |
| People | Client assistance or requested driver plus additional helper |
| Work | Room placement, protection, dismantling or assembly requested |
Practical questions
Can I book delivery if I cannot help the driver?
Yes, send that requirement with item weights and access details. I assess suitable assistance; do not assume the standard vehicle booking already includes another person.
Does carrying help include assembly?
Only if assembly is separately agreed. List the furniture, required work and where it is needed before the proposal is confirmed.
Is the floor number enough for a carry-in quote?
No. Lift fit, steps, tight turns, item weights and parking distance also affect the work. Describe the full route to the final position.
Tell me your route and what you need to move. I assess your enquiry personally, with services arranged through 1wayeurope OÜ.
